Got a new iMac. Need to download game client. Can only get about 50Kb/s. At this rate it would take weeks. Is this a Blizzard issue or an ISP issue or a setting on the iMac somewhere? ISP is Verizon DSL @ 1.3Mbps (slow, but a lot faster than 50Kb/s.) Have read everything related here but see no relevant solutions. Help would be much appreciated.
Hey Cadfael,
![]() Could be a bunch of things that could cause a slow down load. First check on the download speed settings in the Blizzard App. 1) Click on the Blizzard icon on the upper left side of the Battle.net App 2) Click on Settings 3) Click on Game Install/Updates 4) Scroll down to Network bandwidth 5) Set Latest Update to 0 Note: 0 indicates unlimited. 6) Click done If the install is still slow try the basic and advanced steps here.
Thanks so much for the quick response. I have already done the steps you listed as well as the basic and advanced steps you recommended. Rebooted the computer, reinstalled the Agent, connected the computer directly to the modem. Checked that the OS is current. Firewall is off. There are no proxies running. There are no security things running I know of. Safari is up to date. I'm afraid to uninstall the game and start over. I've been downloading the client for over a week and would hate to lose what I have so far for nothing. Would only do that if it can be determined that doing so would definitely solve the problem. Any other suggestions? I assume my numbers are not typical, right?
Something definitely is not working right here. At this point I recommend submitting a support ticket. That way we can get a copy of your system files and connection test to help investigate this.
Thanks again for your help. Tried to submit a support ticket. I get an error message saying 'Something went wrong on our end.' I have a system file to submit, but what connection test are you referring to? I've used Speed Test to test my internet connection and consistently get about 1.3Mbps. (Tried the submit a ticket earlier as well and got the same error message. Could the ticket system be down?)
Still can't submit a support ticket. However, I think I figured out how to do the connection tests you suggested. I now have two trace texts and one Looking glass text result to send as well as my system file. But the support ticket system won't let me send them.
Repeated attempts to send in a ticket with system file and connection test info all fail. I keep getting 'Something went wrong on our end. An error has occurred. This may be a temporary error, so please try again later.' I've done this many times and seem to be at a dead end.
Hey mate, not an ideal solution by a long shot but if you can get the game to download on another machine, even a PC, exit the launcher on your iMac and copy over the 'Data' folder from the other machine to wherever WoW is installing to on your iMac. Then reopen bnet launcher and it should recognise it and then save you 50 odd GB of download.

Milendella, thanks for the great idea. Don't yet have a source computer, but will check with some friends. Appreciate the help.
Still would like to resolve this connection issue. Perhaps the same issue that is slowing the client download to a crawl is also preventing me from submitting a ticket. Is anyone else having the ticket problem? Is there any other way to send my Looking glass and system data to someone at support?
After much research and time on the phone with Verizon, I've concluded that the reason for the extremely slow download is purely due to internet speed. 1.2Mbps is somehow simply too slow for the download of very large files. I'm going to change my ISP. Hope my experience helps someone else with this issue.

Hello all, this problem started happening just today. It was fine earlier at about 3:00pm, but when I got home at about 10ish, I started having all sorts of problems.
The Laptop I have is the 17inch MSIGE72 M VR, 7RG Apache Pro. The Graphics Card is thee GeForce GTX 1070, Intel Core i7 7th Gen Processor. Computer gets used everyday for everyday use and gaming. The memory is fine, all games and other files I have on a separate external hard drive. No changes to the computer have been made (I was gone and when I came back this was the result).

Specifically, when I download ME2, Origin says that it will be a 9.71GB download and a 11.57GB installation.

The first problem I noticed was that when I opened up some games I had on my computer (Steam and the Blizzard Client), both were loading very slow. The steam client kept looking me out even though I've been constantly logged in for the last almost year I've had this computer. The Blizzard Client had both WoW and Overwatch either uninstalled or unable to locate files. I tried to open League of Legends, thinking it was just a minor steam problem, and a weird Blizzard Glitch, and when I queue'd up for the game, it froze midway through (for anyone that plays, It froze during the countdown to ban a champion) and I eventually got kicked because I failed to lock in (But I heard everything, it just wasn't updating visually). Eventually I put all three together and realized it was a bigger problem. A few months ago, I had a problem with Overwatch because my drivers weren't up to date. I've Updated both the windows settings and my drivers. I've checked my firewalls, and restarted my computer several times.I've unplugged my external hard drive which has all of my game files and plugged it back in.
Some key things I've noticed:
I've done all that I can think to do, and I really can't find anything similar anywhere else, not that I know what to search for specifically anyway. Pokemon all seasons download torrent. Has anyone else had these problems? I was thinking maybe an update with a game was messing the game up, but every game I've tried to open or every game client that I've tried to to open has had problems. Either that, or they load really really slow, and will take forever to close until I have to force close it.
Thanks in advance.
